What Am I Fighting For? began in a high school parking lot.
I was sitting in my car, waiting to pick up my daughter, when the lyrics and melody began pouring out of me.
And suddenly, there I was, belting out the words in the driver's seat.
Because sometimes my car is my recording studio.
There was no carefully arranged recording session. Just my voice, a melody, and emotions demanding to be expressed.
Later, I took those raw ideas and recordings back to my studio, where I worked on transforming that unexpected moment into a finished song.
But its heart began right there, in the middle of an ordinary afternoon.
Sometimes music finds you when you're not looking for it.
